And yet another snow day!

So Big L was away at a school when it decided to snow again. Unfortunately me and the boys were out at X's martial arts class, and I didn't realize that the snow would stick or that it would collect so quickly. By the time we got on our way home the snow had already gathered a couple inches and I ended up getting stuck on the hill less then a quarter mile away from my neighborhoods entrance. I. COULD. NOT. MOVE!! I freaked out! I called Big L and demanded that he do something, even though he was in a different state. I didn't want to hear any lame excuses! I was crying, and shaking. The poor boys were in the backseat looking at me like I had lost my mind! Big L had to call a friend out to rescue his pathetic wife. After being stuck for what seemed like forever, but was probably closer to 20 minutes his friend arrived and drove us the rest of the way down the hill. Needless to say we DID NOT leave the house the next day in fear of getting stuck again. Instead I took the boys out to play in the snow.
I had found X a new jacket, so I was able to hand down his other jacket to Little L, which worked out well for him because it kept the snow out of his diaper, which I'm sure his tushie appreciated!

I pulled out the garden shovel for X, and he spent the next hour shoveling the driveway. It was a hopeless effort until our new neighbor came over with an actual snow shovel and "helped" X out. X was so proud of himself, and kept telling Daddy when he came home to visit about how he and his new friend next door shoveled the entire driveway.

Little L was content with throwing snowballs at Daddies truck, which Daddy does not approve of, but Daddy wasn't there, and Little L was having a great time!

He also spent his time throwing snowballs for the neighbors dog to catch. By the time we got inside their noses were running, their cheeks were bright red, and poor Little L's feet were frozen! I had found X some snow shoes, but poor Little L had to suffer with his regular every day shoes which soaked through in about 20 minutes! They both ended up catching Pneumonia within the next 2 weeks, but I think they would say that it was well worth all the time they got to spend playing in the snow!
