16 teeth and counting

Little L had his first visit to the dentist this past week. No amazing photos to share, since it wasn't a visit like X's was. All they did at this appointment was check to make sure there weren't any soft spots, no rotting, things like that. Little L now has 16 teeth and is due for another 4 at some point. X had all his teeth by the time he was 2, I guess Little L is slow in the mouth department like his Mommy. YIKES! I truly hope they get their Daddies teeth, and not mine, that was a horror for years!
Little L was not happy about the exam part of his visit. They had him sit on my lap facing me, and then had me lay him back with his head in the Dentists lap. That's when Little L lost it! This worked out well for the Dentist though since he had his mouth open to scream, she had easy access to see everything! The second she was done and he sat up he was happy as a clam! He's very dramatic, I'm going to say he gets that from his Daddy! LOL

Halloween season has begun!

So, the meetup group the kids go to decided that we'd like to have a halloween party. Here are the boys in their costumes, and a picture of all the kids that were at the party.

X is the "black spiderman", which he said over and over again in a sing song voice when he picked it out at walmart. I didn't think much of it until a black family came walking around the corner giving us a dirty look. I grabbed the costume and tried to show them the picture of the spiderman that was black so as to desperately show them my child wasn't referring to skin color, instead to the color of the costume.... I don't think it worked since they continued with their looks of disgust at the poor white child being raised by the obviously racist white trash mother. I can't blame them! X and his annoying little songs on the other hand I can blame!

Don't be tardy for the party!

Me and Katrina decided to give Little L and Bean a joint birthday party since they are less then a month apart in age, and are practically twins! We chose Chuck E cheese as the location after months of deliberation, mostly in fear of bad weather. We made a wise choice in the end since it had been raining for days leading up to the party day, and was pretty cold outside. I made the kids frog cupcakes as a last minute decision. Some people didn't appreciate my hours of hard work, but I liked them!

So after pizza for everyone....

...we decided it was time for cake!

Bean ended up getting stuck up in the jungle gym climber and Spam was sent in to rescue her. These pictures are payback from Spams comments on how there was X saliva all over the area she was climbing on. I mean, it was true, there was since he licks EVERYTHING! But still, unnecessarily hurtful!

Little L had a great time, and was able to open his presents at home later that day!

What a day! A lot of hard work and planning was put into the party, but the kids seemed to really enjoy it, so in the end it was worth it.

The boys are keeping busy lately!

At the park for some fun in the sun while it lasted!

Enjoying dinner at Steak and Shake with their girlfriend.

They enjoyed a merry go round ride at Opry mills mall while the moms drug them around looking for winter clothes.

Let us not forget my own personal hell day, 40ish degrees, light drizzle, mud, and the smell of pigs EVERYWHERE! The boys did enjoy themselves at Honeysuckle Hills Farm, so it was worth it, kind of. Here they are in the big corn box.

I am certainly exhausted after all that, and they still have energy to spare! I think they are sneaking crack from somewhere!

Little L turns 2!!!

It's scary to think that little L is already 2! When x was his age he had a 4 month old brother, but Little L seems like such a baby still to me! X seemed to be such a big boy at 2, but I guess that's what happens when you're "forced to grow up"!
So in honor of Little L's birthday I took him to Chuck E cheese with a couple of his friends for a little bit of playing, and some lunch.

Amy was nice enough to bring cupcakes for the kids to enjoy in honor of Little L's birthday!

The kids all enjoyed the cupcakes, and getting to run around and play for a little while.

Sam called to say Steve would be working late again that evening, so I asked if she wanted to join us for dinner at Steak and shake. I picked up a "Piderman" cake for Little L from walmart before we headed out to dinner.

The kids were so excited once the cake was brought out! I cute the cake into pieces, and then Little L decided that he should be allowed to eat directly out of the box of cake. I thought what the hell?! Em, X, and Little L went to town on that cake though!

The cake was destroyed after they were done with it, which was a blessing in disguise since I really shouldn't bring it home!

Obituary of Mousey O. Annoying

Mousey O. Annoying, approximately 2, died at roughly 2:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, from injuries sustained from a no show, mess free snap trap in a quiet bathroom in the Barrus household.
Mousey born around Oct. 2007 in possibly Clarksville, TN. where he or she was a lifelong resident. He/she mainly worked as a food scrounger, and a home maker, making his/her last home in the household of the Barrus', which obviously was a big mistake.
He/she is survived by at least 200 children, and close to 1.3 million grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Names are not listed due to that task taking at least 2 years to write.
He/she is preceded in death by grandparents, and parents.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the big black trash can in the Barrus driveway.
Family and friends of Mousey are asked to please stay out of the Barrus household, due to the Barrus Mom not wanting to have to set a million more traps, or writing a million more obituaries!
Contributions in memory of Mousey may be made to the Barrus Household, c/o Mommy Barrus, Clarksville, TN.

The mouse incident of '09

Last night while minding my own business, sitting in bed facebook stalking, I see something out of the corner of my eye. I look up towards my bathroom door to see a tiny little mouse running across my carpet, and into my bathroom! That's when the fear sweats started! Attractive, right? I grabbed my cell phone and texted Sam, "THERE'S A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? I HAVE TO MOVE!". Hm.... No answer! So, I picked up my phone again and call my Mom at home, :::ring, ring, ring::: "Please leave a message after the...." SON OF A BITCH! I wasn't going to let her off that easy, so I call her cell. :::ring, ring, ring::: "Hi, this is Mary, I'm not here right now, please leave a message!" DAMMIT!
"MOM! OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! THERE IS A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE! WHAT DO I DO? ITS GOING TO GET ME! Call me back!". Now, will my mom vouch for this being the actual words I said? Probably not since it was all spoken at a pitch that probably only dogs could hear.
After I got off the phone, I sat in bed thinking about what I could possibly do. Perhaps pack up the boys and head to a hotel? That won't work since all my clothes and my suitcases are in the bathroom closet, with the mouse. OH CRAP! I GOTTA PEE! So, quickly (since I felt like I might end up peeing myself, but another story for another time) and quietly I run to the boys bathroom and pee. As I'm heading back to my room my Mom calls me back.
Me: "What the hell?! How come you didn't answer your phone!?"
Mom: "Well M, I was a little busy driving. What's up?"
Me: In a shrieking voice, "THERE'S A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE!"
Mom: "What did you say? I can't understand you."
Me: In a slightly less shrill shriek, "THERE'S A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE MOM! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!"
Mom: "M, calm down, I can't understand you!"
Dammit! What the hell is wrong with this woman!? I mean, anyone can tell that I am screaming about a mouse! Come on!!!!
Me: So I calm down, and say, "Mom.... There......Is.......A.....Mouse....... IN MY HOUSE!"
Mom: :::Laughter:::
Me: "What is wrong with you?! Do you not see how severe this situation is?!"
Mom: "Well, what exactly do you want me to do about it M? It's not like I live down the street and I can come help you! Where is the mouse?"
Me: "IN MY BATHROOM! I haven't even brushed my teeth yet! Guess that won't be happening tonight!"
Mom: "Well, the mouse M is a lot more scared of you then you are of it!"
Me: "I highly doubt that Mom, I am having the fear sweats!"
Mom: :::more laughter::: "M, I didn't realize I had raised such a wuss!!!"
Me: "Yes you did! You just didn't want to admit it!"
Mom: "M, just deal with it in the morning. Get some rest. This stress can't be good for the baby!"
Me: "PFFT! Rest?! As if I am going to be sleeping tonight!"
Mom: "M, don't freak out! Just get some of those humane traps tomorrow, and then let it go."
So, what did I do after getting off the phone with Mom? Well, I certainly didn't go and brush my teeth! And I definitely wasn't going to go to sleep, so I hopped on facebook and started to update my mood!
11:45 pm Yesterday
"THERE'S A MOUSE IN MY HOUSE! it ran into my bathroom! have i brushed my teeth yet? NO! do i have to pee 1.2 billion times a night? YES! SO SCREWED! won't be sleeping tonight, what if that deranged mouse decides to join me in bed? snuggled right up on big L's pillow, covered up to his chin with the blankets! don't laugh, it could happen! and when it does, who'll be laughing then? well, probably still you, but that's besides the point!"
Attached comment approximately 14 hours ago:
"here's the worst part! ready for it? I TOTALLY SENT X IN THERE FIRST THIS MORNING, WITHOUT TELLING HIM THERE WAS A MOUSE SO THAT HE COULD SCARE IT OFF IF IT WAS IN THERE WAITING TO JUMP OUT ON ME! i know, worst mother in the universe!"
Update about an hour ago:
"so after the mouse incident of '09, which is being referred to this way since we had a rat incident of '05, i went out and got some mouse traps. set them up tonight.... hoping that it works..... also kinda hoping that it doesn't at the same time!!"
Update 47 minutes ago:
"so, i think i have officially pissed of the mouse! the mouse traps were set, and baited-walked into the closet and one had gone off. I FREAKED! then i freaked even more when i discovered that there was no mouse inside!! this means that he has figured out my little plot, and is probably thinking of retaliation right now!!!"
comment on my update:
"pissed OFF.... pfft, my bad. how can you expect me to think right now in this situation?!?!?! THERE IS A MOUSE OUT TO GET ME!!"
So obviously I headed out today for those mouse traps, and much to my Mom's dismay I ended up buying the mouse traps that kill them, but in a contained environment so that I didn't have to see it. I mean, I'm sorry for the mouse, but A) The price really was the final decision in which trap I bought! I mean, if the animal rights activists really had a problem with traps that kill the mice, then they would start fighting for it to be cheaper to buy the non kill ones, instead of fighting to stop selling the kill ones! B) Honestly, its the mouse's fault! That thing shouldn't have come into my house in the first place! I did put chocolate frosting in some of the baits, I'm trying to give it a good meal before I kill it off. I CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH PEOPLE!!!

Outdoor fun! Pictures and videos

Fun in a bottle

So I bought the boys spray bottles a couple weeks ago, and we finally went out to the front yard to use them. They LOVED them! We spent over an hour outside while they sprayed every bush, plant, flower, weed, bug that was in the yard! They are such goofs, but you gotta love a $2 toy that keeps them occupied for so long!!!

Yom Kippur Breakfast Dinner

ANOTHER BRINNER POST! You know how much I like brinner! So my friend Sam is "my Jew" and follows a lot of the Jewish holidays. So recently it was Yom Kippur, and I don't know the history of it, sorry Mama G, but I just know that Sam wasn't allowed to eat or drink from sundown to sundown the next day. She did really well, barely complaining at all. She said that tradition says to eat breakfast for your meal after sundown because its a "lighter" meal, and easier on the stomach. So Sam suggested that we head to IHop for some brinner, since Steve had to work late. The kids were excited about that idea! This light breakfast for Sam turned into a 15lb. dinner! Pancakes, omelet, hasbrowns... I don't think I've ever seen her eat so much before! Grabbed a few pictures of the kids eating brinner, they were having such a good time! Enjoy!!

Quote of the month

"Jesus says, 'Don't eat the baby, 'cause das bad!'." ---- X Barrus

What?? You want an explanation?? I'm not sure if I'll have a good enough one, but I'll try. X started pre-school about 2 months ago, and has been going to a local church for their pre-school program. They recently started to visit, "God's House", or the church every thursday for 15 min. X has been telling me stories about Jesus, and God, and some lady. So a couple days ago he was telling me about how God and "some lady" had a baby. I said, "Mary?", he said, "OK, sure!". Then he starts to tell me this long story with a lot of words that don't exist in the human language added in between words that actually do make sense, so basically I got, "God and da lady had da baby.... :::don't understand the mumbles::: and da baby came out, :::more non-words::: and den dey ate da baby!"............ "WHAT?? They ate the baby?!?! Are you sure about that???". X proceeds to laugh and say, "No mommy, dats funny!". I said, "Well, your the one who said it!". HERE COMES THE QUOTE!!!
X says, "Jesus says 'Don't eat the baby, 'cause das bad!'."

"Kids say the darnedest things!!"
