Playing in the rain....

It was a warm day out when it started to rain. Since that doesn't happen often, I told the boys that they could go outside and play in it. They of course loved it, and haven't stopped asking to go outside every time it rains, which is proving to be a real pain in the ass!

A rodeo party!

What a great idea for a birthday party! The boys headed out donned in their authentic cowboy shoes to a birthday party at the horse stables. This was the first time either of them had ever gotten on a horse, so I was a little nervous for them. I was worried that Little L would miss out on the fun because he'd be to scared to try it out. He shocked almost everyone there when he willingly got onto the horse and actually requested to ride again and again.

3 years and growing!

Little L celebrated his 3rd birthday in a big way! Grandma was here visiting, so she got to enjoy the fun with us. It started off with Little L opening his presents from his family when he woke up. He got some new toy story figures from Grandma, which he loved!He sleeps with them every night in fact!

Lets not forget his all time favorite present this year from Landon- a nerf gun that was almost bigger then him!

At breakfast Little L was told that he could pick whatever he would like to eat. I thought he would have asked for ice cream, or candy. His request- "Ummmm..... CEREAL!". So we told him again, no, you can have ANYTHING you want! "Oh, ok..... Eggs and rice!". Lol, obviously he needed some help thinking up ideas, so Big L offered him a bunch of different choices. Little L finally chose chocolate....... and cereal.
Daddy then took the older boys to X's football practice, and Grandma took Baby J for a nice long walk, which left Mommy time to work on Little L's cake. Since he was having a Phenias and Ferb birthday party, I made him a Perry the Platypus cake.

It didn't come out exactly as I had hoped, but when he saw it he knew who it was, and that's all that mattered!

It was finally time for Little L's birthday party, which he had at a local gym. The kids had a great time, it was such a fun idea that I got from a friend. It really wore the kids out which was a huge plus!

They got to enjoy some pizza, cake, and ice cream next.

Next came presents. Little L got some really neat things that left X super jealous!

The boys just love when Grandma comes up to visit, they get to do all kinds of fun things that Mommy doesn't let them!

Go Flag Titans!

A couple of months ago I signed X up for football. His first practice was back in September. Big L was worried that X wasn't going to like football, he thought he might be to young for it. I have to admit that I was a little nervous myself. We were both very pleasantly surprised when he absolutely LOVED it! The ages of his teammates range from 4-7 years old. Although X is not the fastest player on his team, he definitely has a lot of heart!

After their first game we were all a little worried that the season would end up being a bust, but now in November the boys have shown themselves to be a great team, and have done a phenomenal job of working together as a team, and proving their abilities. They are now headed to the Superbowl next weekend!! I have really gotten into the games, I realize they are only playing flag football, but it can be pretty exciting to watch!
Here's hoping for a win at Superbowl!

Cleaning spree

It was such a nice day out (you know, back in September when these pictures were taken, work with me here folks!) that I thought the boys would enjoy some water play. We were out at Lowes that day and I saw some car cleaning supplies, I figured- why not?! I grabbed double of everything and headed home to set the boys up for some healthy manual labor. Start them young I always say! They had a great time scrubbing at all the dirt, and cleaning the tires. Although when they got to close to Daddy's truck the fun got a time out. Big L is so touchy about his precious truck! Speaking of Big L, the boys cleaning seemed to spark something in him as well, because he got the entire garage cleaned out and organized that afternoon as well! I love to see men hard at work cleaning up messes for me!

Goodbye old friend!

When we first got my Explorer it was just the 3 of us, Mommy, Daddy, and X. Little did we know that 4 years later we'd have a total of 5 members to squeeze into this car. Some people might question why we'd need a bigger car when the Explorer is already so large, but with 3 car seats all squeezed into on row of seats, it made for a very tight environment. Poor X who was seated in the center was constantly sitting at an angle because of the way the car seats had to be installed. The noise! Wow, that was the worst part! There seemed to be a constant stream of talking, singing, laughing, crying, and screaming! X and Little L sitting so close to each other is NOT a good idea! I just knew that they were going to end up seriously hurting each other if we couldn't figure out a way to separate them, and putting Baby J so close to Little L was not a good idea, because when Little L gets into a mood there is no telling what he'll do! So we finally decided to saying good to my cramped, falling apart 2003 Ford Explorer.....

..... and hello to my beautiful, spacious 2010 GMC Acadia! 3 rows of seats, 2nd row with captain chairs. The boys can't see each other, so the fighting has come to almost a complete stop. Its so much quieter in the car, and of course the car seats fit so much better and is so much safer! Bonus- X is finally sitting upright, and LOVING it!
